Mohamad Amri Sahari

President / Group Chief Executive Officer

Mohamad Amri Sahari, a Malaysian, is the President / Group Chief Executive Officer of MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad. He is responsible for MSM’s Group overall business strategy and vision development. Additionally, he oversees the operations, policies, strategies, growth and profitability of the MSM Group.

He holds a Master of Business and Administration (Strategic Management) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from South Dakota State University, USA.

He started his career as a Factory Engineer, Felda Palm Industries Sdn. Bhd (1989), Mill Manager, Hamparan Badai Oil Mill (1996) and General Manager, Felda Palm Industries Sdn. Bhd. (2004). Subsequently, he moved to MSM Perlis Sdn. Bhd. as General Manager (2004), and was promoted to Senior General Manager (2008) and became CEO in 2010.

At present, he sits on the board of several companies within MSM Group.

 

Aznur Kama Azmir

Aznur Kama Azmir, a Malaysian, is the Chief Financial Officer of MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad.

She holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons), UUM and a MBA from RMIT, Australia. An accountant by profession, she is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow of ACCA(UK), a Fellow of CIMA(UK) and CGMA.

She started her career as a trainee auditor in Shamsir Jasani and Co. She join PwC, KL in 1997 and left the firm in 2001 as a Senior Auditor to join Felda Transport Services as an Accountant and progressed to Finance Head. In 2006, she moved to Felda Holdings Berhad as the Group Accountant and then to Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad in 2012 as VP/Head in charge of the Group Accounts, Reporting and Budgeting.

She was a member of the due diligence working group for the listing of MSMH in 2011 and FGVH in 2012. In June 2015, she joined MSM as the CFO.

Ha Charm Mun, a Malaysian, is the Chief Executive Officer of MSM Prai Berhad. He is responsible for overseeing the sugar refinery operation located in Prai, Penang.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom.

He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer, MSM Prai Berhad (1982), Senior Engineer, Dupont Singapore (1992), Maintenance Manager, Idemitsu SM (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (1999) and returned to MSM Prai Berhad (2004) as a General Manager. In line with his current role under the MSM Group, he is also the Chief Executive Officer of MSM Prai Berhad.

Ismail Samsu

Ismail Samsu, a Malaysian, is the Chief Executive Officer of MSM Perlis Sdn. Bhd. He is responsible for overseeing the sugar refinery operation located in Chuping, Perlis.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering) from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and is also a qualified 1st Grade Steam Engineer.

He started his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Linatex Process Rubber Berhad (1988) and later moved to Kedah Cement Sdn. Bhd (1991). He joined MSM Perlis Sdn. Bhd. in 1994 and gained promotion to Manager (2005), Senior Manager (2008), subsequently spearheading affairs in Milling Department and as Technical Coordinator. In 2014, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager. In line with his current role under the MSM Group, he is also the Chief Executive Officer of MSM Perlis Sdn. Bhd.

MSM Sugar Refinery (Johor) Sdn. Bhd. (MSM Johor), a subsidiary of MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad (MSM) operates MSM’s new sugar refinery based in Tanjung Langsat, Johor which is set to be the largest standalone sugar refinery in Malaysia. Erected on a 50.63 acre land plot, the integrated complex is under development for Phase 1 - to build and operate a 3,000 tonnes per day of refined sugar output (RSO) contributing of up to 1 million MT on the Group’s annual production capacity. This is set to be fully commissioned by mid year of 2018. Upon increase in demand, expansion of Phase 2 shall commence by 2025. The combined annual production capacity of Phase 1 and Phase 2 is capable for up to an astounding 2 million MT, strengthening MSM’s position as one of the leading refined sugar producer in the region. With an investment of approximately USD $259 million for the development of Phase 1, this magnifies the Group’s confidence to showcase its ability towards MSM’s 53 years of talented expertise and experience in sugar refining and skilled management. Upon completion and full commissioning of MSM Johor, the total group production capacity will increase of up to 3.25 million MT per annum. One of MSM Johor’s salient point enables capacity building which translates to competitive pricing on end products. This allows MSM to foray into neighbouring countries, further strengthen the Group’s domestic market share and transform Malaysia into a regional hub for high quality refined sugar. Significantly, MSM Johor is seen to be a key growth driver for MSM Group to realize its mission in becoming one of the top 10 global sugar player by 2020.
